Some Distant Star

by Howard A. Landman

The company of strangers is comfortable to me
Anonymous is what I want to be
Cause all my friends just ask me how you are
I tell 'em you're fine, Shine Like Some Distant Star
This town ain't big enough for me and your smile
I'm going to the mountains for awhile
But every lonely peak becomes Mt. Palomar
And I only watch you Shine Like Some Distant Star
I thought you weer my Northern Star
A light forever true
But now you're setting in the west
The sky turns purple-blue
The morning star is hopeful, it leads the break of day
Oh Venus is so beautiful to see
She seems so close, but no one's been that far
The goddess of love Shine Like Some Distant Star
