Sonnets To JenniCam I, 6

by Howard A. Landman

November 17, 1996 ?

Is she then virtual? No, her extended
nature encompasses both domains.
Some pictures may not be really intended;
still, her networking mastery's plain.

Leaving Jen's images onscreen when you
go to bed is a bit extreme.
Yet the cam, beckoning us, is the venue
for every fantasy and dream

that she can summon. Their stunning variety
may leave us sated or far from satiety,
but they're not for money. Grateful are we.

So, we believe that our Jen's on the level.
Is she an angel, is she a devil?
Boot up your browser, and tune in, and see.

San Jose, December 22, 1998

In addition to being a tribute to Jenni, this poem is also a satire of R. M. Rilke's "Sonnets to Orpheus I, 6".
