Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and stress caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other situations as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in orally. The usual daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in divided doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into couple of doses.
More Information
Atarax can cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Use Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been ordered. Don't take less or more or take it more often than recommended by your doctor.
