Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for treatment of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It can be used alone or with other pills. It can also be used for other conditions as suggested by your physician.
How Taken
Use Methotrexate as suggested by your physician. Use Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It can take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Do not stop taking Methotrexate without calling to with your physician. Methotrexate works best if each dosage is taken at the scheduled time.
Additional Information
Methotrexate can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Methotrexate with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you respond to this pill. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, call your physician. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been recommended. Do not take
less or more or take it more often than suggested by your physician.
