Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and stress motivated by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in by mouth. The usual daily dose for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in divided doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into couple of doses.
More Information
Atarax can cause giddiness. These effects may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other drugs. Take Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than ordered by your physician.
