Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It may also be used for curing nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin may also be used for other condition as suggested by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as recommended by your doctor. Use Neurontin with or without a meal. Don't take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within 2 hours before you take Neurontin. Don't suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You may have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new medicine, your doctor will gradually lower your dose.
More Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, notify your doctor. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
