Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for treatment of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It can be used alone or with other medicines. It may also be used for other situations as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Take Methotrexate as advised by your doctor. Take Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It can take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Do not stop taking Methotrexate without visiting with your physician. Methotrexate works best if each dosage is taken at the scheduled time.
Additional Information
Methotrexate may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects can worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Methotrexate with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take
less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
