Tri-State Polyamory Location(s): New York City and Bound Brook, NJ (Connecticut currently is without a local meeting). Contact: Joel Spector 55 Garden Street, Teaneck, NJ 07666 201-833-4065 Email: joels@scisun.sci.ccny.cuny.edu Description: Public meetings for contact, introduction to polyamory, and socializing; currently under discussion are private meetings, outings, and some form of social activism/networking. Frequency: The second Tuesday of each month in Bound Brook, NJ, at the Palmyra cafe; the fourth Thursday of each month in Greenwich Village, NYC, at Song's Restaurant. Kinds of people: Those who are pleasant company. No preference or selection as to gender, kink, etc.; white-bread is as welcome as cayenne roti. Are non-poly people welcome: Yes. Are children welcome: Yes, bedtimes permitting. Costs: No fee for the meeting; the restaurants are pleased if you buy dinner, but if you want to have a glass of water and join the conversation, it's okay by them. Palmyra has relatively cheap food ($5-$8) and expensive drinks and desserts; little selection as to food, some on desserts, and a goodly spread on drinks. Song's is a Vietnamese restaurant; dinner is around $10-$15 and the food is superb. Vegetarians can be accomodated at either; Song's also serves American-style food for the unadventurous. RSVP's: Not required. Exact locations: New Jersey - Palmyra is on Hamilton Street, across from the Bound Brook train station. New York - Song's is on MacDougal Street, about 50 yards north of Bleecker Street or 200 yards south of the southwest corner of Washington Square Park (nearest subway stop is West 4th Street). Accessibility: Each has a couple of steps; I've seen the staff at Song's get a wheelchair into the diningroom with no fuss, haven't seen any at Palmyra, but I wasn't looking. Don't know about cats. Suspect Song's might serve one, if asked, but I prefer the clay-pot shrimp.
